In real life Thomas Holland is scientific director of the Defense Department's Central Identification Lab in Hawaii. In his debut mystery, "One Drop of Blood," so is his protagonist, Robert "Kel" McKelvey, who is facing one of his biggest challenges when he tries to find clues about a long-forgotten murder in the South.
