Ann Patchett “Run”
August 6th, 2008
Writing in The New York Times, Janet Maslin said of Ann Patchett‘s novel “Run” that “Patchett once again thrives on juxtaposing wildly different characters and creating volatile chemistry among them.”
A Boston politician is left a widower, alone to raise three sons. Years later, when the boys are men, an accident on a snowy street changes the family in a deep and fundamental way, allowing Patchett to contend with questions of race, politics, religion, and family.
