No one alive today knew Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt as well as their eldest grandson, Curtis Roosevelt, who, along with his sister, lived at the White House for years.
It was only as he grew into adulthood that “Buzzy” Roosevelt realized the double-edged nature of his rare privilege. Now he looks back on the complexities of his fame by proxy, in a book he calls “Too Close to the Sun.”
