Not long after the terrorist attacks of September 11th, 2001, a small band of U.S. Special Forces soldiers secretly entered Afghanistan. Their mission: to seek out, pursue, and fight the Taliban. But as journalist Doug Stanton writes, these soldiers — outnumbered as much as forty to one — rode to war on horseback. Stanton’s book is called “Horse Soldiers.”
