Ellen Cassedy “We Are Here”

It started as a simple desire to learn the Yiddish her late mother spoke. But for journalist Ellen Cassedy a journey back to her family’s homeland in Lithuania soon morphed into something much more challenging, more troubling, and more fascinating and ultimately rewarding than she had imagined.
As she tells in her new book “We Are Here,” Ellen Cassedy also found new perspective on the Lithuanian Holocaust, on World War Two itself, and the echoes that still shape people’s lives today.
