The 2008 Pulitzer Prize for fiction went to a debut novel by a Dominican-American author named Junot Diaz. Writing about a pudgy “lovesick ghetto nerd” through the eyes of his family and friends, Diaz told the story of a family, and the multi-generational curse that followed it.
