Ken Burns “The National Parks”

No matter where you live in America, chances are you’re close to one of the country’s nearly 400 national parks. Some 84 million acres have been protected from development, starting with Yellowstone National Park, established in 1872. Few people know, however, how radical an idea it was back then.
Filmmaker Ken Burns and writer Dayton Duncan teamed up to create a twelve-hour PBS series called The National Parks – and a companion book by the same title.
