Lucinda Roy “No Right to Remain Silent”
April 10th, 2009
On the morning of the Virginia Tech campus massacre in April 2007, as news of the tragedy spread, one person had a horrifying realization. English professor Lucinda Roy recognized gunman Seung-Hui Cho as the very troubled student she had worked with, one-on-one, for months. He was the virtually silent loner for whom she had worked so hard to get help.
Now, in a book she says people warned her not to write, Roy breaks through the silence of the Virginia Tech establishment to try to explain why it happened, and why it could happen again. Her book is called “No Right to Remain Silent.”
