Most people would probably find forgiveness difficult, if not impossible, if they were subjected to a horrific terrorist attack that resulted in the deaths of many innocent people, and nearly cost them their own lives.

After the 2008 Mumbai hotel massacre, spiritual teacher Master Charles Cannon and two dozen associates did forgive their attackers, refusing to yield their hearts to the desire for revenge, punishment, and hatred.

Now, in a book called “Forgiving the Unforgivable” Master Charles explains how this forgiveness was not only possible, but vital to him and the others who endured the trauma with him.

True forgiveness, he says, comes from a state of awareness in which forgiveness becomes instinctive.
