Neil Sheehan “A Fiery Peace in a Cold War”
October 6th, 2009
The arms race of the 1950s and ’60s wouldn’t have been much of a race were it not for the scientists who actually built the arms. Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Neil Sheehan takes us into their world in his book “A Fiery Peace in a Cold War.”
Using the same technique as he employed in his landmark book “A Bright Shining Lie,” Sheehan tells the story through the experience of one man, in this case an Air Force general who was the driving force behind the ICBM program.
