Samuel Wurzelbacher became a key figure in the 2008 presidential election, when, scarcely three weeks before election day, he was captured on video confronting candidate Barack Obama about his tax policy. He earned the nickname “Joe the Plumber.”

Since then he has become something of an “everyman” folk hero for the conservative cause. Wurzelbacher has written a book explaining the values he stands for — it’s called “Joe the Plumber: Fighting for the American Dream.”
