Walter Mosley “When the Thrill Is Gone”
April 6th, 2011
Contemporary New York City is a tough place for an ex-con private eye to get along. And Leonid McGill, the protagonist in Walter Mosley‘s series, is getting along in spite of it. In Mosley’s thriller — actually titled “When the Thrill is Gone” — McGill reluctantly takes on a new client, a character Philip Marlowe might have loved:
A beautiful woman walks into his office with a pile of money and a problem. Chrystal Tyler is convinced her billionaire husband is about to kill her, and would McGill be kind enough to help her? Cash is cash, and McGill needs some, but the case is going to be a lot more difficult than he’d anticipated.
But then, you already figured that out, didn’t you?
