Most people who want to get into show business end up in Hollywood sooner or later. But actor Mike Farrell started there. He grew up in a working class neighborhood in West Hollywood, a stone’s throw from Tinseltown. As a teenager he delivered groceries to Jack Benny, Lucille Ball, and Jimmy Stewart.

Years later Farrell finally enjoyed stardom himself, on television in “M*A*S*H” and “Providence” and in movies, as producer of “Dominick and Eugene” and “Patch Adams.” Through it all, overarching everything, is a strong sense of social justice that has also made Mike Farrell one of Hollywood’s most prominent political activists. His memoir is called “Just Call Me Mike.”
