You know his sketch comedy, his standup, maybe even his Expedia commercials. Now meet Michael Ian Black, husband, father, memoirist.

His book, “You’re Not Doing It Right: Tales of Marriage, Sex, Death, and Other Humiliations” is an uncommonly honest confessional of his life from childhood to parenthood. And how, so often, he has not “done it right.”

Michael Ian Black

And as you’ll hear in a moment, Black doesn’t mind if he doesn’t get a punch line in on every page, because his stories are not setups or schtick. They’re his life, and they’re not always meant to be funny.

Sarah Silverman

No one knows this better than comedian Sarah Silverman, whose memoir is “The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee.”

Paula Poundstone

It’s not that comedian Paula Poundstone had nothing to say about herself, it’s just that when a publisher asked her to write a book she couldn’t get started.
