Phil Kerpen

America’s democracy is being taken away from us, says the author of the new book “Democracy Denied.” And Phil Kerpen, vice president of Americans for Prosperity, says it’s President Barack Obama who is taking away our traditional bedrock principles of democracy.

Kerpen says the President is doing so by using unilateral — sometimes, he says, illegal — means to bypass the normal legislative process and take sweeping regulatory action through agencies and “czars.”

With an agenda that disregards what the American people want, Kerpen says this President’s actions truly are “democracy denied.”

Naomi Wolf

The original American revolutionaries were determined to establish a nation of participatory government, where ordinary citizens would have the power to effect substantive change. Naomi Wolf seeks to recharge broken spirits, and reenergize a nation of voters, in her book “Give Me Liberty,” a primer for retaking control of democracy.
